wyatt's rookie card

2008-08-04 11:31:23

through some called in favors and lots and lots of bribes, i was able to get my hands on wyatt's rookie card. it even features the rare camo jersey and wyatt's signature rec-specs. this thing is gonna be a goldmine...

look alikes? (pt 2)

2008-07-24 07:23:20

wyatt has been on an impressive run of sleeping and eating this week. he is really putting most teenagers to shame. and when he's not eating or sleeping, he's practicing baseball or watching Cars, his current fav.

because he is sleeping late, he's napping late. and when he naps late, he goes to bed late. so, we really have to wake him up some afternoons just so he's not going to bed after us. so yesterday, i went in and gently woke him. he sat up, cried, flopped back down and then wanted to be held by mommy.

when he looked at me over katelyn's shoulder, he had the tiredest, angriest look. and it made me think of a pic that he very much resembles. take a look for yourself...

mommy's sick...

2008-05-28 20:44:52

the last two nights, katelyn has been sick so wyatt and i went on some adventures. yesterday, we spent an hour at home depot, just checking out all the doors, lights, wood, stairs and carpet. after pretty much everything he would say 'boppa.' yes, wyatt, boppa has tools and daddy doesn't. BUT, he did say 'dada' when we saw the barbecues...but i think he meant to say 'lockman' because that's who does the grilling here...

then tonight, we went to bevmo, chipotle, barnes & noble and vons. check the photos...

look alikes?

As I started flipping through my new InStyle magazine this month, Wyatt kept stopping me and pointing at the cover saying "Momma". As you can see, Cameron Diaz is on the cover. I started to chuckle a bit. Then I opened to a picture of Jason Lewis (see below) and he said "Dadda". That caused a burst of laughter (sorry J). I still can't decide which idea is more absurd.

earning allowance

2008-05-21 06:37:40

yesterday, wyatt began the first of his many chores: washing dad's car. he did a fine job, although he did sometimes choose to wash his own belly instead of the car. luckily, they could both use some cleaning. niiiiiice.

enjoy the pics below...

New Names

2008-04-14 08:49:43

Wyatt's list of words continues to grow and last night he learned a couple very important ones. He can now say Lockman and he refers to his uncle Kyle as "Uh oh' - which is more fitting than his given name. More vocab updates to come.

left? right? not sure.

so it's already happened. i was helping get wyatt ready for church last night and managed to get his shoes on... just on the wrong feet. i was wondering why it was so hard to get them on. just thought he had grown out of them. luckily, his astute mother noticed immediately and had the foresight to grab the camera.

dear future wyatt: sorry.
love, dad

disneyland

2008-03-17 10:44:54

Wyatt and I went to disneyland for the day with our friends Leslie and Leyla. Leslie is a great photographer, so she is constantly taking photos of the kids. And they get along really well. This was their parking structure pose before we entered the park. They had very different expressions when we left 6 hours later....

Confirmed words

2008-02-21 20:06:01

We have started a count of Wyatt's spoken words. He has been doing very well with sign language, but he is starting to put his verbal skills to use now. To date, I have personally heard the following words spoken:

Uh, oh
Oh, wow!
Mama
Grandpa (pronounced bumpa)
Dada
Grandma
Lemon
Drew
More
Please
Thank You
Banana
Avo(cado)
Cheese
Shoe
Outside
Einstein (as in the famous Polish physicist... or the baby DVD's, don't judge)

And the list grows.....

this just in....

2008-02-21 10:07:00

we have had breaking reports from grandpa steve that wyatt is now saying both 'drew' and 'lemon.' despite being questioned about the name of a lemon last night, he played the cute, silent baby and promptly smiled and threw it to the floor.

while this report is yet to be confirmed at the parental level, we have found grandpa steve to be a very reliable source. more details soon...

Bath?

2008-02-20 15:00:41

Wyatt has started using the sign for "bath", so I try to give him one whenever he asks - to promote good personal hygiene, of course. But when he gets in the tub, I am not allowed to get his head wet, use a wash clothe or wash his hair. If I do, he stands up and tries to escape, which usually involves him slipping and falling. To him, a bath is just playing with his toy in water instead of on dry land. I continue to try and actually get him clean while bathing. He usually doesn't cooperate, but maybe once I have a couple extra hands to help me out, we will have a truly clean boy.
